REC rolls out industry-leading certification program for solar installers in Indonesia
As a global company with business footprints in Asia Pacific, REC believes that a strong local presence should be supported by a network of expert local partners. The REC Solar Professional Program promotes a long-term alliance between both parties, which is important in the fast-paced and dynamic solar industry. A stringent criteria is in place to ensure that only the best and most qualified local partners come onboard as new REC Solar Professionals. This unique differentiator sets them apart from other installers. End customers benefit from the REC Solar Professional Program as they will be assured of a consistently high standard provided by their installers who use REC’s high quality solar panels.
In addition to training programs and exclusive seminars aimed at building their technical and industry knowledge, installers certified as REC Solar Professionals benefit from an extended product warranty (an additional two years on top of the REC’s standard 10-year product warranty), service fee for approved claims and access to sales and marketing tools that support their business success.
Jen Tan, REC’s Vice President for Sales and Marketing in Asia-Pacific said, “REC’s Solar Professional Program is a key differentiator that sets us apart from our competitors. We equip in-country installers with the tools and technical skills to increase their credibility and grow their businesses as professionals. We are delighted to offer this program to solar installers from five companies in the Philippines and another five in Indonesia. All 10 installers in both countries can now provide their customers with high-quality installations backed by excellent technical and safety expertise, with the assurance of REC’s high performing solar panels.”
The 5 Indonesian companies that have been newly certified as REC Solar Professional Installers in October are: Tesaputra Adiguna, Witraco Perdana, Gaspro Wahyu Widada, ADL Energy and Adidaya Abadi Sentosa.
As one of the largest archipelagoes located on the equator, Indonesia’s solar irradiance averages 4.8kWh/m2/day. Approximately 112,000 MWp of solar energy can potentially power up the country. However, the total installed capacity is only a fraction, estimated at 75 MWp in 2015. This offers a huge opportunity for Indonesia to tap on the abundance of renewable energy from the sun. REC’s solar solutions provide a timely and relevant response to the untapped energy potential in this market.
One of the largest and most populous countries in Southeast Asia, Indonesia has been facing stable grid connectivity challenges. To mitigate its fossil fuel dependencies, its policy-makers have encouraged the greater adoption of clean and renewable energy in the country’s energy mix. Indonesia’s Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (MEMR) is targeting for 23% of its energy supply to come from renewable resources by the year 2025, as part of its energy diversification policies.
With the forthcoming feed-in-tariff incentives from the government, Indonesia is expected to become the largest solar PV market within the Southeast Asia region by 2025. REC Solar Professional Program for solar installers in Indonesia is a timely response to the demand for solar power.
